As a multilingual writer, Kaizu has drawn inspiration from a diverse range of sources: antiquity, philosophy, Japanese classical literature and folklore, Baroque painting, Gothic literature, cinema, noir, modern Russian poetry and so on. She experiments with space, sound, gesture, hybridization and intertexuality. In addition to publishing her creative writing in journals and anthologies, she has contributed art reviews and translated prose and poetry. Some of her published works are listed below.
